In October of 1962, the U.S.S.R. placed missiles in Cuba, because they felt threatened by missiles the United States government had placed in Turkey. Through negotiations the United States and the U.S.S.R. successfully achieved diplomacy, which prevented a nuclear war. Consequently, the next year the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty was signed and which led to the start of the end of the Cold War.
Your topic was amazing to read about I never really knew much about The Cuban Missile Crisis but I'm glad I finally got to. Is their anymore you would want to learn about The Cuban Missile Crisis, or do you know it all?

ReplyDeleteI have learned so much about the Cuban Missile Crisis that I really find it hard to find new information about it. The only newer stuff you could find would be the recently declassified government documents from that era. Which, in my case, doesn't state any new information just adds to the evidence of the relevant.

ReplyDeleteI decided to make my blog about the Cuban Missile Crisis because I know so much about the topic that I feel as I have lived thought the eyes of the people involved. I also feel deeply inspired by the leaders of the nations. I found Kennedy's speeches breath taking. I wish that he wouldn't have gotten shot so early in life. He would have made a great impact in the future if he would have lived longer.
